About AEM - Seaport-e - Quality Assurance

Quality Assurance

Quality Assurance (QA) is of paramount importance to AEM.  QA is integrated with AEM's standard business process.  To better address rapidly changing software technologies and client expectiations, AEM adopted a company-wide process improvement initiative to ensure better software product quality and increased software development capability.

AEM successfully received CMMI Level 2 Assessment on CNI HQ Navy Housing in May of 2004.  We are aggressively moving towards CMMI Level 3 for the CNI HQ Navy Housing project and were assessed as compliant with CMM Level 3 using the SCAMPI B methodology for the US Department of Education's National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS).  CMMI is the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) standard for best practices.  Under the CMMI certification, we were assessed to have implemented best practices under the following categories in Level 2:

  • Project Planning,
  • Project Monitoring & Control,
  • Requirements Management,
  • Configuration Mangement,
  • Measurement & Analysis, and
  • Product & Process Quality Assurance.

Thus, AEM's QA and Project Management processes are certified as best practice.

AEM Corporation manages all projects through the implementation of Project Management Best Practices.  This set of practices includes processes, methods, tools, and techniques that result in successful client solutions with the highest possible client value.  In order to maintain the integrity of the software products that AEM develops QA is integrated into AEM's standard business processes.

AEM Clients can expect projects of high quality that are completed on time, within budge, and with low risk.  Project Management Best Practices are designed to meet objectives of the qualityassurance, continuous business and project risk mitigation, on-time, on-budget projects and continual improvement.  AEM achieves the objectives with key Best Practice features including:

  • Senior Project Team. Each project has experienced professionals responsible for successful project mangement and delivery.
  • Independent Quality Assurrance Review.  As part of our CMMI compliance procedures, all projects are subject to Quality Assurance Reviews of both the product delivered and processess used.  The QA team conducts audits of each software product and the respective Project Team to assess adherence to the prescribed processes and the status of each project.
  • Project reviews.  AEM's program management team engages in an in-depth assessment of projects' progress.  The team reviews the project status that lists task complete percentage relative to budget exhausted percentage, and risks identified versus ricks mitigated.
  • Risk analysis.  AEM project managers continually update project plans, they identify issues that will adversely affect the delievery schedule or the effectiveness of the solution.
