April 5, 2006 AEM Corporation Achieves CMMI Level 3 Certification
Chantilly, VA – February 9, 2006 - Applied Engineering Management Corporation (AEM) is pleased to announce that the team responsible for maintaining the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) for the US Department of Education has just received a Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 3 rating, a clear indication of a high level of process maturity. The significance of the rating is underscored by the importance of the project receiving the certification. The NSLDS database that AEM maintains provides management of student loan information for over 250 million student loans and grants, nearly 60 million students at over 20,000 schools serviced by over 30,000 lenders.
The Arlington location is the first unit of the company to be certified to Level 3 and complements the firm's Chantilly office which previously attained a Level 2 rating in 2004 in support of AEM's work for the US Navy Housing program. Being assessed at CMMI Level 3 demonstrates AEM's level of commitment to excellence in project management and software development and delivery.
This achievement is the culmination of many years of hard work and continuous, focused process improvement," said Sharon deMonsabert, AEM's President and CEO. "It demonstrates to our governmental and commercial clients that we deliver products and services with the highest quality and competence."
