June 2005 AEM Awarded SeaPort-e Contract
We're proud to announce that AEM was recently awarded a SeaPort Enhanced (SeaPort-e) contract with the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). SeaPort-e was established by the US Navy as a Multiple Award Contract (MAC) to increase their efficiency, facilitate performance-based service acquisition, leverage buying power, improve business intelligence and reduce cycle time. SeaPort-e utilizes an electronic, web-based portal where requests for services are managed from "cradle to grave". Task orders are competed via the portal. The award has a four-year base period with one five-year award term and one additional one-year award term.
The ordering community for SeaPort-e includes all Virtual SYSCOM activities, other Navy activities, the US Marine Corps, and other DoD organizations. The contract will be used primarily for the acquisition of repetitive, high-dollar value professional support services. A top priority of NAVSEA is to convert all GSA efforts to SeaPort-e.
