Open Source Solution Sales

Applied Engineering Management’s Vizuri Business Unit is looking for a dynamic individual to join their Award Winning Open Source solutions practice.  With a focus on solution selling in support of Channel Partnerships, there is opportunity for involvement in many different solution-selling initiatives including the development of next generation information systems.

In addition, strong candidates will be able to contribute in other areas depending on their skills/interests and Vizuri needs.  The ideal candidate will excel technically; provide sales leadership in one or more technical areas of Professional Services and Software Support Subscriptions.  This individual will exemplify Vizuri’s guiding principles of thought leadership and innovation related to Open Source software.

Responsibilities 

  • Promotes the sale of Vizuri’s comprehensive enterprise solutions that includes open source technologies and professional services.
  • Take ownership of leads, opportunities, and manage customer relationships, as needed.
  • Maintains records of calls made using CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software.
  • Work directly with Business Development Team to identify solutions for customers.  This includes but is not limited to estimation, quoting, and proposal development.
  • Collaborate with the Software Engineering, IT, and Customer Staff to help define requirements, statements of work, plan development, and deliver solutions.
  • Compiles, develops, segments, and maintains lists of prospective and active customers for use as sales leads, based on information from trade shows, direct mail responses, aged leads dealer resellers, business directories, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
  • Be accountable for growing existing business relationships and acquiring new business by cross/up selling customer opportunities.
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding sales, services, and call volume quotas.
  • Prepare reports of business transactions.
  • Works with Vizuri partner sales representatives and channel management to promote Vizuri value proposition and maintain visibility within the partner channel program.

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree required and at least 2 years of sales or customer service experience preferred.
  • Solution selling, business development, or open source sales experience considered a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, multi-task, make cold calls, and possess strong time management skills.
  • Market or subject matter expertise with at least one Application Server Platform (e.g. JBoss, Weblogic, Websphere, etc.).
  • Proven ability to deliver high quality and timely customer service.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with various Vizuri stakeholders including consultants, partners, and clients.
  • Excellent oral (e.g. phone etiquette, customer relationship management, etc.) and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate; comfortable working in a database environment and with Microsoft Office.
