Energy Management
Applied Engineering Management has a solid background in the area of energy analysis and design. AEM completed projects for a variety of organizations including: the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Washington Gas Light Company, and the Department of State. AEM completed work in energy engineering in the following ways:
- Customer support in electric demand side management opportunities and the market forces presented by the deregulation of the public utility companies.
- Engineering systems evaluation, design, and redesign to support improved energy and related operating costs that structure investments with lower life cycle costs.
- Creating initiatives that assist public agencies in privatizing their energy infrastructure.
- Initiating rate and metering programs to assist clients in determining how to best leverage their energy budgets.
Project Example AEM provides engineering and software support for the State Department's initiative to comply with the requirements established with the Energy Policy Act of 1992. Since the onset of this contract, AEM has surveyed, analyzed, identified, and prepared recommended improvements for the operation of an over one-million-square-foot building area, resulting in $750,000 in annual savings and nearly $15,000,000 in facility life cycle cost savings.
