Through the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), AEM developed an enterprise system for Navy Family Housing to deliver a web-enabled system incorporating over a dozen applications (which include Environmental Health & Safety, Asset Management, Construction Estimating, Energy Utilization, and Finance).  These projects total over $4 million annually.  One of the most complex modules is the Energy Auditor.  The Energy Auditor allows a user to conduct audits of an Activity's current energy consumption, run "what if" scenarios to help them compare potential areas for energy improvement.  A planning/project tool, Energy Auditor conducts a benefit cost analysis on each conservation alternative, calculating payback times and relative rates of return.  AEM developed the benefit and costs algorithms. Energy Auditor has evolved over the past decade from a stand-alone desktop application (FORTRAN based) to a Client-Server application, to a web-based tool with enhanced functionality at each incarnation.

Tampa Bay considered building a reservoir and had to balance withdrawals from three sources of water to ensure minimum stream flows during all types of weather.  AEM developed methodology and provided training for monte-carlo simulation to be used to minimize the size of the reservoir based on historical weather data and probabilistic forecasting.
