Project Example
AEM has a long history of conducting management studies for clients for seeking solid information on which to make critical decisions about the operation and performance of their operations. The AEM staff is accomplished at undertaking these studies, especially in the infrastructure and utility system operation fields. With years of in-the-field management and leadership experience in utility system operations, the AEM staff brings a common-sense presence to such studies.
Recently a major water/wastewater operating company serving a fast growing region with a very high-end clientele asked AEM to help it scope the design requirements of a new support facility for the maintenance functions of the utility. AEM was asked to work with the current workforce to distill their current needs and augment these with operating best practices which cna be anticipated in the future. A look at the workforce process and procedure characteristics in the year 2025 is needed. The emergence of widely accessible personal communications, GIS-based mapping and navigation systems, digital database availability and cross-platform information sharing capabilities suggests that the workforce of 2025 will operate very differently from today's force. AEM will provide the metrics to permit the utility management and leadership to make the best investment decisions today to support its people and fulfill its mission well into the future.
