Johnny Cunningham

Johnny Cunningham is responsible for developing the custom ETL code that loads state IDEA data into Generate for the automation of the EDFacts submission files. He also contributes to end-user documentation and trains state staff on the Generate application as well as the development and use of its ETL code to assist in their transition to ownership of this process.

Mr. Cunningham has more than 25 years’ experience in software and application development, including more than 15+ years of experience in federal and state government. Previously, as an ETL developer and Database Administrator at the South Carolina Department of Education, he was responsible for evaluating the legacy data collection methodology, documenting those processes, and developing the plan to transition from the siloed data storage infrastructure to the CEDS data model. During his time at the Department, he focused on the collection, storage, and enhanced availability of K12 SIS data; he also met with district liaisons, administrators, project officers, and state staff to guide the planned inclusion of IDEA, early learning, and assessment data.
