Ross Lemke

As an AEM Associate Director, Ross Lemke serves as the lead for the U.S. Department of Education’s Privacy Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), leveraging more than two decades of experience providing technical assistance. Through his work on PTAC, he assists state and local education agencies, schools, districts, and postsecondary institutions to develop an understanding of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), cybersecurity, and the effective use of technology in the classroom and on campus. In his work, Mr. Lemke offers expertise in privacy, security, data collection, data governance, policy development and stakeholder engagement.

Over 14 years working in education, he has provided TA around numerous U.S. Department of Education data collections, including EDFacts, the Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC), and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Mr. Lemke has also led the operation of the customer support center for two of the Department’s largest data collections. He has been able to work on site with 45 states and 3 U.S territories. Mr. Lemke is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
