AEM Corporation has received five years of funding from the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) to continue leading the Center for the Integration of IDEA Data (CIID).
CIID provides technical assistance to state education agencies (SEAs) to increase the capacity to report high quality data required under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part B Sections 616 and 618. CIID supports the integration of IDEA data systems and processes with Statewide Longitudinal Data Systems (SLDS).
This work is a critical component of OSEP’s effort to support states with access to a broad array of higher quality data to support efforts like results-driven accountability to improve educational outcomes for children and families. It will build on existing efforts and also expand to new states.
CIID provides technical assistance to SEAs across a continuum of needs and current efforts toward integration of IDEA and SLDS processes and systems. Through CIID’s technical assistance, SEAs will have:
The automated EDFacts reporting solution Generate is a free software application that improves data quality and automates reporting for SEAs through standardization. Generate can improve SEA data use and reporting to better support administrative and policy work for improved educational outcomes for students with disabilities and their families.
The CIID team will build on the momentum of 13 SEAs implementing Generate and the successful record of technical assistance providers documenting data quality improvements in 100% of SEAs receiving intensive technical assistance.
AEM partners on CIID include AnLar, Evergreen Evaluation and Consulting, Westat, and WestEd.

We look forward to connecting with state staff, center directors, and other likeminded organizations and individuals at the 2024 OSEP Leadership and Project Directors’ Conference.
In this blog post, we will discuss the importance of project management and how the Massachusetts EOE has chosen to modernize their practices by implementing a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). We explore the ways in which this helps to improve resource allocation and project outcomes, and why it is important to take a structured approach to project management.
