Emily Rang serves as the Deputy Director for the Center for the Integration of IDEA Data (CIID) and as a Coordinator for the Common Education Data Standards (CEDS). She has a deep understanding and commitment to mentoring others in using quality education data standards, data governance, project management, and collaborator engagement. Emily offers expertise in data management and leads a wide range of teams through education data projects.
Emily brings 15 years of experience in municipal and state government, most recently leading data governance efforts at the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction. She led the adoption of a new public open data repository, championed the state's Generate implementation efforts, and facilitated technical and data governance stakeholder groups. During her tenure as Washington's EDFacts Coordinator, the state received numerous awards, and she was also a contributor to the updated Standards for Education Data and Reporting (SEDCAR) published by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) Forum. Her prior work spans supporting LEA's data submission efforts, leading technical teams through complex projects, and advising agency leadership on data strategy.
