Nathan Clinton

Nathan Clinton serves as Technical Lead for the Common Education Data Standards (CEDS) and Technical Product Manager for the Center for the Integration of IDEA Data’s (CIID) Generate application. Through this work, Mr. Clinton offers expertise in education data, enterprise and systems architecture, software development, and DevOps.

Mr. Clinton has dedicated his career to improving public K12 education data and systems. Previously, he served for 10 years as the Enterprise Architect for the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction. He provided technical oversight for many of the largest Washington State projects, including the State Longitudinal Data System. Over his career, he has participated in the development of education data and interoperability standards, including CEDS, and A4L’s Schools Interoperability Framework. With the A4L community, he served as co-lead on the Student Record Exchange project, has maintained a position on the North American Technical Board, and currently chairs the Open Source Developer Network. He has also worked with the Ed-Fi Foundation to develop a bridge between the Ed-Fi and CEDS data models.
