AEM Blue

Working at the federal, state, regional, and local level, AEM has an unmatched combination of expertise and relationships in education data.

We are significant data collectors, managing the systems and operations that result in timely and high-quality data. We advance the state of practice by creating unique IT tools that are modern and secure, leveraging partnerships with leading vendors such as AWS, Microsoft, and Appian. Our data teams also provide extensive technical assistance, coordinating and collaborating with stakeholders using established processes and tools to deliver online communities of practice, workshops, webinars, publications, and in-person meetings and conferences.

We are proud of our P-20W+ successes over the last decade. AEM employees are leading experts in major education content areas, including FERPA, Common Education Data Standards (CEDS), Statewide Longitudinal Data System (SLDS), and Generate. Through our partnership approach, we worked alongside the U.S. Department of Education to launch the Privacy Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), make CEDS a reality, develop the SLDS technical assistance effort, and implement the Generate solution. We also support a range of additional, high-impact customers, such as the ED APR Tool, CARES Act grants reporting portal, Common Core of Data (CCD), EDFacts, Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC), Migrant Student Information Exchange (MSIX), and TRIO.

Meaningful change requires coordination, and AEM works to create breakout value by collaborating across our teams. At a macro level, we have leveraged our expertise and relationships in education data to help the Chief Data Officer develop an enterprise data strategy that meets Evidence Act and DATA Act requirements. As an example at the project level, our PTAC experts work to make sure all of our data efforts align with privacy requirements and best practices. When education stakeholders need support, we are able to coordinate experts from multiple contracts on the same call so we can identify the appropriate follow-up steps.

Our work has helped federal, state, and local education stakeholders realize greater integration and standardization of data; improved data systems, governance, and quality; and a more secure and privacy-protected education ecosystem.
