What do you do at AEM?
I am responsible for architecting the software solutions we provide for one of our major clients in the Department of Defense. I’ve been at AEM since 2003, and have worked in similar roles on other teams as well.
How does AEM compare to previous places that you’ve worked?
This is the best possible place to work. Seriously. [Our founder’s] idea is that employees are the most important part of AEM, and that clearly flows down to management and to our general culture. AEM gives you opportunities to use your strengths. It invests a lot in employees, and employees reciprocate. That’s a significant reason why we are so successful.
Do you have any advice for new hires?
This is not a short-term gig. Be prepared to be part of the AEM family. Be here for the long-haul. When we hire people, that’s what we want to convey to potential hires. Because we are here for the long-haul, we have every incentive to create quality things. We don’t want to deal with the consequences of lower-quality software in the future.
